Courses content and structure
Each course includes lectures and exercises (labs) to develop the necessary skills. The main components are:
- Keynote lectures and discussion sessions on cybersecurity technologies.
- Practical workshops and labs on cybersecurity and cyber defense techniques.
Research internship and master’s thesis preparation
From the very beginning, students should start working on their master’s thesis. In the first semester, they meet their supervisors and research consultants and have the opportunity to participate in one of SIT research projects. So, a research internship is a time when students work with their supervisors on the master’s thesis. The task may vary, it depends on the supervisor.
Our approach to teaching
Our aim is to provide active and hands-on learning based on best practices from our academic staff. Students are always highly involved in the educational process. We use various technics to rise involvement and engagement, such as teamwork, problem learning, flipped learning, etc. Lecturers always are responsive to participant needs and always are ready to answer professional questions, to assist in solving the study tasks.
All lecturers from SIT academy staff have a doctoral degree. Also in the educational process are involved outstanding visiting lecturers from the best universities (courses in 2-3 semester).
Course assessments
Usually at the end of each course is a comprehensive end-of-course final exam which the student completes and submits for grading. Final examinations measure how well a student understands the subject they are enrolled in.
Continuous assessment often includes some form of formative assessment: quizzes, course project reports, lab reports, student’s participation, and performance in class.
The results are evaluated both formatively and summatively. Students must complete all mandatory tasks and attend not less than 70% of classes.
